Tercera versión de la iniciativa abordó fenómenos sociales de Latinoamérica.
Investigadores de todo el mundo, reunidos en la Universidad Católica del Norte (UCN), participaron en la tercera versión del Latin American School on Social Issues, LASI 2019, encuentro enfocado en dar a conocer las problemáticas sociales que afectan a América Latina.
Junto a estudiantes de Norteamérica, Europa y América Latina, LASI es una oportunidad para que jóvenes investigadores generen redes de contacto para el intercambio de conocimientos y experiencias durante su trayectoria profesional.
“Es una instancia para reflexionar y generar conocimientos con personas de distintos países y diversas líneas de las ciencias sociales. Es un desafío importante”, señaló la Dra. María Cecilia Hernández, vicerrectora de Investigación y Desarrollo Tecnológico.
INVESTIGACIÓN
LASI es una iniciativa gestada por el Instituto de Investigaciones Arqueológicas y Museo (IIAM) de la UCN y el Centro de Estudios Interculturales e Indígenas (CIIR) de la Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.
En la ocasión participó una treintena de alumnos de postgrado, profesores asociados a LASI y autoridades académicas. Por su parte, Pedro Mege, director del CIIR, enfatizó que “esta escuela de verano da la oportunidad a los estudiantes de junto a destacados científicos sociales recibiendo información de primer nivel. A través de esta, pretendemos colaborar en el fortalecimiento de la trayectoria de estos jóvenes investigadores”, resaltó.
El encuentro, desarrollado en la Casa Central de la UCN en Antofagasta, contó con workshops y actividades plenarias en torno a temáticas como Fronteras del Estado; Delimitación de lo Económico; Enredos Generativos; Migración, Desarrollo y Género; Economías Extractivistas y Antropología de Medios, entre otras.
